Clary sage is a sweet, flower scented essential oil that can be wonderful for all sorts of uses! The light scent makes it great for people who don’t want to exactly smell like they are wearing an oil, but it is still scented enough to where the aroma can have benefits. Whether you are looking for stress relief, a better night’s sleep, or a healthier scalp, clary sage essential oil can be helpful. If you want to know more about How to Use Clary Sage Essential Oil, take a look below for some helpful information.

How to Use Clary Sage Essential Oil

Where to Find Clary Sage Essential Oil
Check out your local health foods store or essential oil specialty site for clary sage. While it isn’t an oil that has gained a ton of popularity yet, it is still fairly simple to find and afford. Like many essential oils a little goes a long way, so even the smallest of bottles will give you many uses.

Precautions About Clary Sage
Clary sage while purposeful, also comes with some precautions. Because it can cause uterine contractions it should never be used by pregnant women. It is also not safe for the eyes, ears, or nose. Never use clary sage on any of these areas directly.

Uses for Clary Sage Essential Oil
Now that you know where to find clary sage essential oil and a few necessary precautions, here are some helpful ways to use clary sage. Keep in mind that you only need to use it in small amounts, with 2-3 drops or dabs typically being enough.

1. De-stress
Add a few drops of clary sage to your bath water to enjoy an aromatic, stress relieving bath. Diffusing clary sage in your office space or residence can also help with overall stress relief. When in a hurry or stuck in traffic, just add a dab to your palms and inhale from quick stress relief.

2. Get a better night’s sleep.
Diffuse clary sage in your bedroom so you can enjoy a more restful night’s sleep. Some users prefer to apply the oil directly to their pillow, but this isn’t advised since it could come in contact with your eyes during the night. If you wish, you can even add clary sage to a sachet and leave it under your pillow for benefits you can enjoy all night.

3. Get a healthier scalp.
You can massage a few drops of clary sage into the scalp for a healthier, well nourished scalp. You can also add a few drops to your shampoo, just be sure you allow all of the run off to go behind your head in order to avoid contact with the eyes. Do this a few times a month and see if you notice a difference in your scalp and hair.

4. Boost your massage.
Want to make your massage even more amazing? You can add a few drops of clary sage to your massage oil or cream in order to enjoy a more relaxing experience as well as soothe sore muscles. Clary sage can also be added to everyday moisturizer when applied to skin to help with achy muscles.

5. Balance your mood.
Need a little lift? You can apply a drop or two of clary sage to pulse points in order lift your mood. This can be especially be beneficial if you experience mid day slumps and need a quick pick me up. Just a few drops should do the trick.

Many avid essential oil users love pairing clary sage with bergamot or orange oil, and feel it can help enhance the experience. Try using clary sage with one of these more common oils or on its own and see if you don’t enjoy the benefits it has to offer.

I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
