If you are looking for fun ways to introduce the letter M, here are some great activities, printables, crafts, books, and recipes to get you started!

I had a lot of fun putting together this list of fun ways to teach the letter M. There are just so many creative ways to incorporate the letter M into your lesson plans that it was very difficult to find just a few to list here. Here are some fun crafts, recipes and activities to help you put together a lesson plan for the week you study the letter M.

10+ Ways to Introduce the Letter M

Crafts:

Frugal Fun 4 Boys has a great Letter M Macaroni Craft that just uses some dry noodles, glue, paint and cardboard. You could do it with lots of color, too!

Make this Foot-print Mushroom like Crafty Crafted did. How cute is that?

Printables:

3 Dinosaurs has a great Letter M printable pack that is totally free!

The Measured Mom has a great Lower Case M page with all kinds of sizes ready for tracing.

 Activities:

This Magic Milk experiment from Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails combines the letter M with Science and looks so neat!

I love this M is for Monster Sensory box idea from Totschooling. Your child can “feed” the monster items that start with the Letter M. What a great idea!

Books:

If you Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff

Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman

Mary and the Mouse, The Mouse and Mary by Beverly Donofrio

Mouse Went Out to Get a Snack by Lyn Rossiter MacFarland

Recipes:

Make any kind of muffin! This would go great with the book suggested above, “If you Give a Moose a Muffin”!

Make this Sugar Free Marshmallow Cream from Saved by Grace. If it happens to be hot cocoa season, place some in it! You could also try making regular Fluffy Marshmallows, as well, like Happy Food, Healthy Life.

More Fun with the Letter M:

M is for Music and this whole page from What’s Up Fagans? has some fun activities from matching games to making your own maracas!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
