When those long hot summer months stretch out before you, it is important to find good ways to stay cool. Staying in the shade and seeking out cool breezes is one great way to do it. And hiding in the house with the AC blasting is always an option when the heat is overwhelming.

But one of the most enjoyable ways to stay cool in the summer is by eating a variety of frozen treats. From fruit pops to ice cream bars, there are numerous varieties of these cooling, flavorful treasures. And when you make your own, you are only limited by your own supplies and imagination!  As you look through this list of 15 Wonderful Ways to Make Frozen Treats, I bet you come up with some great ideas for making treats of your own!

Popsicle Molds Ice Pop Maker

Almost everyone I have known has had at least one set of Tupperware Popsicle Molds. These versatile and durable wonders are iconic. And the great thing about Tupperware these days is that you don’t have to go to a party to buy it. You can get these great Popsicle molds anytime you want them. Use them to freeze Koolaid or Orange juice or blended fruit or anything else you can think of. I’ve even seen people freeze plain water, just because they liked eating ice that way!

100% Fruit Soft-Serve Maker

If you are doing your best to eat healthy, buying frozen treats in the store can be a little risky. Even if you find something that says it is 100% fruit, you may find that there are a lot of preservatives in it.

But with this Yonanas Frozen Healthy Dessert Maker, you control everything. Not only can you make sure there are no unwanted additives, but you can make your own unique flavors. So if you really want to mix your pineapple with cherries, there’s no one to judge you on your choices!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
