Arena is sharing her recipe for Cherry-Flavored White Chocolate Hearts.
These Cherry-Fla
This recipe is very flexible. It calls for cherry flavoring, but you can replace it with your favorite flavor. You can stick with just white chocolate if you wish. If you do decide to also make red chocolate hearts, I recommend that you buy red chocolate, instead of trying to make it by adding food dye. The food dye can react with the melted white chocolate in unpredictable ways and ruin it.
Ingredients and Items Needed:
- White Candy Melts
- Red Candy Melts
- Cherry Flavoring Oil
- Silicone Mini Heart Mold
- Red Sugar Sprinkles
I have provided links to the items on Amazon, but you should also be able to pick the items up at your local craft store.
How to Make the Cherry-Flavored White Chocolate Hearts:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt White Candy Melts according to package directions. Add 2-3 drops of cherry flavor to taste, and mix well. Fill silicone mold with melted chocolate. You can repeat the process with red chocolates. Just make sure you reserve an ounce or two of each color to drizzle over the top of the hearts.
Tap the mold a few times to settle the chocolate and remove any uneven parts.
Allow to harden for at least one hour, then remove hardened candy from the mold and set on wax paper.
Melt a small amount of Red Candy Melts according to package directions and drizzle onto some of the chocolate hearts. Add a pinch of sugar sprinkles to others. Let harden completely and store at room temperature.
