Crispy Kale Chips- These baked kale chips are incredibly easy to make. Enjoy them plain or with your favorite seasonings for a healthy and guilt-free snack.

These Crispy Kale Chips are an excellent healthy snack!  They fit perfectly into a gluten-free diet, paleo diet or even a diabetic friendly diet.  Chock full of antioxidants and nutrients everyone needs, kale has fast become the most fashionable of vegetables.  These chips will have your family begging for more of their favorite new vegetable to snack on.

This Crispy Kale Chips recipe is so easy to make.  A few very simple steps, only 4 ingredients and a few minutes of your time will result in a ton of healthy chips you have no guilt pouring into a bowl for yourself or your family to snack on.

Crispy Kale Chips

Make sure to rinse your kale well before preparing for this recipe.  Just like any other leafy green food, growing in the ground means there are often bits of dirt still clinging to the leaves that you may miss.  Make sure you take the time to rinse thoroughly, then pat dry to prepare for making your chips.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bunch Kale
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Salt & Black Pepper, to taste (usually 1 teaspoon each for this amount)

Crispy Kale Chips ingredients

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees.
  2. Fill a large bowl with water and add kale.  Swish around to remove any dirt then drain.  Dry thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel, paper towels, or salad spinner.
  3. Tear the kale leaves into 1-2″ pieces and place into a large bowl. Discard the ribs as you go.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and toss until evenly coated.Crispy Kale Chips
  5. Arrange leaves in a single layer with no overlap on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Rub each leaf gently between your fingers as you work to ensure each is covered in oil.Crispy Kale Chips
  7. Sprinkle with salt & pepper.  (Optional: Sprinkle with small amount of Parmesan cheese or garlic powder.)
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until leaves are crispy.

These Crispy Kale Chips are going to become a favorite for everyone in your family.  Play with flavor options by adding a bit of garlic or onion powder for a classic kick, or you can even add a hint of hot sauce with the olive oil when mixing to make them extra spicy!  The combinations of flavors or limitless!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
