Whip these up for your next family dinner or save them for the perfect Thanksgiving side dish. That’s right, if you’re slotted to cook for the holidays, these are an easy yet flavorful mashed potato recipe!
To save time on Thanksgiving, I like to peel and dice the potatoes the day before. Then I place the diced potatoes in a bowl and cover them with water and refrigerate them overnight. This prevents the cut potatoes from browning.
Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes Recipe
This recipe can be doubled or tripled if you are serving a large crowd.
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds potatoes
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 pound fresh unsalted butter
- 4 ounces half and half
- 1 tablespoon garlic and seasoning (optional)
Directions:
1. Dice potatoes and put them on to boil.
2. Mince garlic clove.
3. Saute garlic clove in 2 tablespoons butter.
4. Strain the potatoes.
5. Mash potatoes or place in your mixer adding in sauted garlic, remaining butter, and half and half.
6. Sprinkle with garlic and herb seasoning, optional
