Quick and Easy Instant Pot Ham Recipe

Want a dinner that tastes like you have been slaving over it all day but it really took only 30 minutes? Then try this delicious Instant Pot Ham Recipe !

The traditional combo of pineapple and ham are unbeatable in a new fabulous and quick way to cook up dinner. Whether you are cooking for a holiday or Sunday night supper this Instant Pot Ham Recipe will quickly become a favorite on your dinner rotation. What did we do before the convenience of pressure cookers? They aren’t just for canning anymore!

Instant Pot Ham Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (7 to 8 pound) bone-in ham
  • 1 (20 ounces) can sliced pineapples, drained with juice reserved
  • 1 ½ cup water

Supplies Needed:

  • 8 quart Instant Pot
  • Toothpicks, to attach pineapples

Important: This recipe requires an 8 quart (or larger) Instant Pot. A ham larger than 8 pounds is not likely to fit in an 8 quart Instant Pot without removing the ham from the bone.

Directions:

  1. Test to make sure your ham will fit into your electric pressure cooker with the trivet.
  2. Place trivet into the pressure cooker. Add water and reserved pineapple juice.
  3. Attach pineapples to ham using toothpicks. Put ham on top of the trivet.instant pot ham in pressure cooker instant pot recipe
  4. Close the pressure cooker and set the value to sealing. Set the pressure cooker to manual or pressure cook on high for 30 minutes. When the cycle is complete, let the pressure cooker naturally release for 10 minutes before setting the valve to quick release.
  5. Carefully lift the ham from the pressure cooker using the trivet. Remove pineapple and toothpicks before slicing.

Note: If you want to glaze your ham after cooking in the pressure cooker, preheat your oven broiler. Place the ham on a baking sheet or casserole dish. Cover with desired glaze and place under the broiler until crisp, 5 to 10 minutes depending on the distance of the ham from the broiler. Add additional glaze in layers during the broil time if desired but do not overcook.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
