Lucky New Year Cocktail

The Lucky Year Cocktail is not your typical New Year’s cocktail; this is all the luck you will need for the new year inside of a delicious sipper. Made with pomagranate, orange, strawberries, and champagne this Lucky New Year Cocktail is light and full of flavor, sure to be a hit with your guests.Did you know that in different cultures around the world, oranges and pomegranates are considered lucky? Oranges and pomegranates are the fruits to give as gifts to friends and family to bring the ones you love lots of love and of course, a year filled with good luck! Happy New Year’s.  This Lucky Year Cocktail would be perfect to serve at your New Years party or anytime you want a refreshing drink made with a blend of orange and pomegranate.  Cheers, happiness, and luck to you and yours in the new year!

Lucky Year Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed pomegranate juice
  • 3 fresh strawberries with the stem removed
  • 1 ounce Orange Flavored Vodka
  • 2 ounces orange curacao
  • 2 ounces Sweet Rosé Champagne
  • 1 cup ice

Directions:

  1. Place the glasses you will be using into the freezer 2 to 3 hours before serving to chill them for the best results, champagne glasses are perfect for this delicious concoction.
  2. Combine all of the ingredients into a blender and pulse until smooth.lucky new year cocktail in the blender
  3. Pour into a chilled stemware glass.
  4. Garnish with an orange peel and a few pomegranate seeds.
  5. Serve.

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
