These Mint Spider Cookies are easy to make for Halloween parties and get togethers. The recipe includes a yummy mint sugar cookie base and step-by-step instructions for creating fun spider webs.

These Mint Spider Cookies are a perfect treat to make this Halloween. The recipe includes a mint sugar cookie base and step-by-step decorating instructions.

Halloween is coming up very soon. Can you believe it? For many parents this means Halloween parties at school everywhere else. If you’re scrambling to try to find something to make that’s fun for the kids but not too complicated, these Mint Spider Cookies are a perfect solution. They are easy to decorate with these step by step instructions, too!

Mint Spider Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup softened salted butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mint extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • green gel food coloring
  • black gel icing
  • chocolate chips

Additional Materials:

  • circle cookie cutter
  • parchment paper
Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 325° and line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
2. Using a hand mixer, beat your softened butter and sugar together for about three minutes.
3. Quickly mix in your mint extract and egg.
4. Now, mix in your flour. It will start to thicken and then look a little crumbly.Mint Spider Cookies- mixing dough 5. Finish kneading the dough in your hands until it starts to stick together.
6. Roll your dough out onto a floured piece of parchment paper.
7. Press your circle cookie cutter onto your dough and place the circles onto your baking pan.8. Bake for 10 minutes, they will look light in color. You don’t want them to get too hard or it will make them difficult to decorate.
9.  Let your cookies cool.
10. Use the black gel icing to draw a spider web. Start by making 3 skinny squiggles like the picture below.Mint Spider Cookies- making icing web11.
