Do you have an old crib laying around? Here are 10 Ways to Repurpose a Crib to inspire you to create something awesome from it!

When your last child is no longer in a crib, it can feel like a bit like entering a new phase in yours and your child’s life. You probably have many memories that are special for that crib and it can feel like such a shame to just throw it away. If you have no one to give it to and want to keep it around and reuse it, here are 10 ways to repurpose a crib that can make something old into something new again!

10 Ways to Repurpose a Crib

Make a Chalkboard out of it for your little ones to draw on or for you to use when you hold yard sales like The Red Kitchen did.

How about making it into a Toy Box Bench like My Repurposed Life does? This would be a great way to keep toys under control in play rooms or for boots and outdoor toys in mud rooms.

From Scratch Club used her son’s cribs railings to create a wonderful Garden Trellis! This one does not require wood working skills.

Infarrantly Creative made something I have never seen done with a crib. She made this awesome Jewelry Organizer with a stenciled scripture on the front! How awesome is that?

Create this Porch Bench from an old crib like Tatertots and Jello-O did. This one looks like it is about the easiest I have seen among these types of projects and their tutorial is great.

Toddlers and wagons go perfectly together and this Pull-a-Picnic Wagon from Tidbits is a great way to make one from your baby’s old crib!

If you happen to come across an antique crib, give this Crib-to-Herb-Garden project a try from Cynthia Weber.

Here is a great use for cribs. This one is made from an older crib, but I bet it would be fine for a newer one as well depending on the design. Find details on how to make this Coat Rack from a Crib on Nest Interiors.

Move your toddler to their own big kid bed without throwing out their crib. Just follow the steps to create a Toddler Loft Bed on Adriel Booker.

If you have backyard chickens, you will love this idea for a Coop from a Crib by The Happier Homemaker.

Bonus Idea: If you have a changing table that is no longer in use, you can make a child’s desk from a changing table with this tutorial by Thrift Diving.

What do you plan on doing with your old crib? Let me know in the comments!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
