Want to add a touch of autumn to your home without breaking the bank? Here are 5 Frugal Fall Decorating Tips for your home.5 Frugal Fall Decorating Tips - Decorate your home for fall without blowing your budget with these DIY decor ideas.

Fall is just around the corner and it’s fun to have your home appropriately decorated for the season. But maybe like many, you are on a tight budget and there isn’t much room in it for decorative items. Below are some easy ways to decorate your home for fall on a budget!

5 Frugal Fall Decorating Tips

Pick Up Some Flowers

By now, flowers at your local garden center are being discounted because it’s almost the end of the season. Head in and find some flowers that are orange, red, or yellow and place them around the outside of your house.

Bring Nature Inside

Fill a bowl with pine cones. Cut branches from trees and bushes and arrange them in a tall vase. You can add a bit of color by painting the branches or leave the branches natural and add a few silk flowers in fall colors.

Check Out the Dollar Store

Your local dollar store might have some really cute small decorative items or faux flowers. Buy a couple things from here to place around your house. You don’t need to go overboard with décor anyways, just a few well-placed things here and there will do the trick! Here is a frugal fall tablescape made with items from the Dollar Store.

Dig Into Your Thrift Shop

Many thrift stores will put seasonal décor out during various times of the year. Here you can find really cute things for only a few dollars. You never know what you can put together because you never know what they might have until you check it out!

Create Your Own Art

Pick up some blank canvases the next time you are in the craft store and some fall colored acrylic paints. Paint abstract paintings on the canvas and decorate your walls with your own art. You don’t have to be an artist…it will look great as long as they are complementing colors!

Adorn Your Home With Kid’s Crafts

Really not crafty at all? Let the kids do the decorating! Put up any fall crafts they come home from school with and use that as your own fall décor. Your friends and family will love it, it doesn’t get much more of a personal touch than that! Here are some easy fall leaf art projects for kids and some fun pumpkin crafts for kids.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
