Improve focus and stay on track when trying to accomplish your day-to-day goals with these 5 Tips to Becoming More Productive. Whether it’s checking off work related tasks or just getting a few things done around your home, these tips will help you become more productive.
If you are a busy person or you work from home, you understand the struggle of trying to stay on top of everything and get every item checked off of your to do list for the day. It can be hard to focus and pay attention to the task at hand when you also need to tend to 5 other items at once. Here are 5 Tips to Becoming More Productive regardless of the reasons you aren’t being productive right now.
5 Tips to Becoming More Productive
1. “Mess creates stress.” This statement is oh so very true. It does not matter if you claim to be a “messy person” or you claim to know where everything is even with the mess. If you clean that mess up, I promise you whole heartedly that you will become more productive in your day to day life. Looking around trying to find your to-do list won’t do you any good. Having a clean desk and your to do list posted in the same spot it’s always in will boost productivity without wasted time!
2. Stick to a schedule. I know this sounds tough, but anyone with children knows that when you have a set nap time each day it benefits everyone in the home. It’s the same with adults, so stick to a schedule. Say that you have two hours in the morning to do one task. You must eat lunch at your chosen time and NOT at your desk (this also takes away productivity). Plan out each of the things on your to do list in time fragments as much as possible. It will keep you on task and the more your schedule repeats the better your productivity will be.
3. Set goals. Setting goals is an important step in reaching them. Reaching goals is what will boost productivity very easily. For example, set a goal that this month you would like to make “x” amount of money. Then, make a to do list of things that you need to do to obtain goal and schedule those to do items in. Do you see how this all plays together?
4. Remove distractions! YES! This includes logging out of Facebook for a while, turning your phone on airplane mode, and only checking emails one to three times a day rather than checking it every minute and allowing it to distract you.
5. Relax! It is crucial to allow your body relaxation time, especially when you work from home. You are constantly working in the same environment and most likely doing the same or similar things every day. Schedule time in for yourself with no work, no distractions, just you time. Your body will thank you and it will help clear your brain so that you can become more productive. You wouldn’t believe what a 10 minute walk around the block can do for you!
