7 Of the Top Items to Sell on eBay

1. Children’s Clothing. New and gently used children’s clothing is a fast seller on eBay. Seasonal items sell best when sold in the season they can be worn in. Don’t forget to list accessories such as shoes, coats, hats, even socks and Halloween costumes. Items sell best when gently worn, with labels attached.

2. Women’s Accessories. Women’s accessories such as new and gently used scarves, purses, jewelry, sunglasses, and handbags are all great sellers. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures and includes as much information as possible to bring in the highest dollar.

3. Cell Phones. Do you have an old cell phone you aren’t using? If so, sell it on eBay! People buy phones of all makes and models and even less than perfect condition. So sell your old phone on eBay and fetch some cash!

4. Collectibles. This category includes a wide range of items such as sports collectibles, glassware, collectible jewelry, movie memorabilia, vintage kitchenware, pottery, vintage textiles, and the list goes on. Any items considered collectible or vintage are perfect for eBay and getting in the hand of collectors.

5. Books. College textbooks, cookbooks, children’s books, and vintage books all sell well on eBay. Go through your bookshelves and see what you want to part with. Chances are, someone on eBay is looking for it.

6. Baby Gear. Baby monitors, crib sets, Bumbo seats, and other baby accessories sell well on eBay as new mom’s are trying to save a little cash. Sell your gently used, clean baby items once your child outgrows them, and free up some space while making some money. Be sure to check and see if the items you want to sell are not recalled, too.

Have been looking for a way to get rid of so much clutter. But hesitate cause I am sentimentally attached to quite a lot of what I need to get rid of. To begin with I have no clue on how and where to start and would appreciate any help I can get in this regard. Thank you.

Rochelle, Think of something you have gotten rid of in the past. You don’t miss it do you? For really sentimental things take a picture, and save that. You don’t have to do it all at once. Maybe set a monthly date. Like someone’s birthday you know. So for example, the 12th of every month you get ride of just a few things.
The old “one in 2 out” is good also. You can even cheat; one pair of slacks in, a suit out. Who cares? No one gets hurt and you still get rid of a suit. You will feel good about yourself. You can take December off. Do whatever gets you moving in the direction you want to go. Sometimes a friend can help. Start in the morning and treat him/her to lunch.

Rochelle I myself have felt the same way. Then I thought about and when I leave this world my children will not care they will throw everything away. So eBay has been a great fit. Yes they have fees and at times we may not like the price but the item is gone. So it is a 50/50 fit. Good luck!

There are so many great categories to sell on eBay. It is helpful to pick something you know about and something you are passionate about. Though my store is a very eclectic mix, I highly recommend picking a niche!

Hello Brenda, Is Ebay the best way to go to sell your items? Is there other sites that you sell on? Your advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
