Once upon a time, women used camphor oil for so many reasons! Camphor oil has since taken a back seat to many of the other essential household oils, but the truth is it is just as practical and purposeful! If you have been curious about camphor oil and want to know more about how it can be used in your own home and health routine, take a look below at these Creative Uses for Camphor Oil that you should try. You might just find that camphor oil deserves a place in your house.

Camphor oil is much like vapor rub, so if you love the scent of vapor rub then camphor oil is an oil for you. You will also find it is easy to use, and a little goes a long way. So without further hesitation, take a look below at 7 uses for camphor oil you should try!

Creative Uses for Camphor Oil

1. Disinfect the air. During cold and flu season you can diffuse camphor oil in the space to help clean the air, make it easier to breathe, and help battle against those nasty germs. Diffusing a few drops of camphor oil is easy, and a great way to lessen the effects of the flu or the chances of catching it altogether.

2. Break up chest congestion. This is an oldie but a goodie! Camphor oil can be rubbed on the chest to help break up nasty chest congestion. This is one of the most popular ways to use camphor oil and one of the most effective ways of treating a chest cold. Just rub in a circular motion while inhaling deeply. You can even add it to pulse points to help aid in loosening congestion during the day.

3. Soothe sore muscles. No one wants to deal with muscle soreness. Camphor oil is effective at breaking up muscle stiffness. Add a few drops of camphor essential oil to a carrier oil such as almond or coconut oil, then massage in a circular motion onto tight and aching muscles. It works hard and deep at breaking up stiffness and pain.

4. Repel bugs that love to bite. Get rid of biting insects such as mosquitoes when you drop camphor essential oils onto cotton balls and place them around your picnic area. You can also add drops of camphor oil to a small cloth and place it at the center of the table to keep bugs at bay.

5. Keep lice away. Camphor essential oil can be used to keep lice away. Just add a dab to the fingertips and massage into the scalp. The scent of the camphor works the same way on lice as it does on other biting bugs such as mosquitoes.

6. Enhance your bath. If sore muscles or a cold have you feeling down, a few drops of camphor oil added to your bath can help. It will enhance the bath and help you feel more relaxed, allow you to breathe easier, and can help soothe soreness.

7. Treat fungus. Camphor essential oil can be used to treat nail fungus when applied directly to the area. While the oil can take numerous applications to work, it will in fact help fight the fungus and lessen if not eliminate the appearance.

Are you ready to give camphor oil a try? As you can see, it is a beneficial oil perfect for use in your home and health routines. If you love the scent of Vick’s or vapor rub products and the cold relief they provide, then you will love the scent and effects of camphor oil.

Add camphor oil to your arsenal of oils so you can start enjoying its effects too!

I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
