Oh, one of my favorite season’s is just around the corner. FALL!
I love the weather that allows you to throw on a sweatshirt, jeans and boots.
Hot cider with warm delicious donuts.
The crunchy leaves.
Bonfires.
A trip to the Cider Mill for wine tasting and fun family activities.
Chili. Oh, how I love Chili in the Fall! Premeditated Leftovers has some great chili recipes that you can check out and try!
But most importantly, I get to change from summer decorations to fall decor! I’m already at the point of pulling out fall decor and have started to do some small changes around the house. Here in Michigan the weather has been cool on and off over the last few weeks. So, as far as I’m concerned it’s the perfect time to start pulling out the fall decorations.
With Fall, comes the changing of the leaves. And the change in the decor around the house and your table.
Do you have any plans to decorate for fall? Any upcoming dinner parties planned? If so, let me be your go-to-girl!
Here’s an idea that I put together for a small double date dinner party that I hosted here in my home.
Fall Table Decor Ideas
As always, I never know what I’m going to need or use until I start putting it all together. Sometimes when I’m browsing through magazines or Pinterest I come across some great designs. Now, I’m not an expert when it comes to the best table decor designs but I like to take a little of this and a little of that and come up with my own unique look. Buying new tableware and decorations can be expensive, so I always try to keep my decor ideas budget-friendly. Decorating your house every season, can be expensive. However, recycling your decorations, trying new DIY ideas and shopping the sale cycles can score you some great deals.
With this specific design, most of my items were picked up at Kohls and Hobby Lobby for 60-80% off.
One of my favorite pieces from this specific Fall Table Decor idea is the napkin ring holders. I picked these up at Kohls about two summers ago for FREE! I combined the 80% off sale with a $5 coupon and was able to score these for free. And I just love them! They are big, but fit in nicely when it comes to harvest and fall related table decor.
Instead of paying a lot of money for live Hydrangeas, I went with the fake ones.
Money saving tip: While we love using fresh flowers, buying the fakes ones at a steep discount means you can use them again and again!
I clipped the stems halfway off, then folded the rest of the stem instead of the mason jar. Filling the jar halfway with water makes the flowers (from afar) look real!
Keeping the table setting simple with white plates, red & brown chargers and a funky salad bowl that ties in all of the colors. Adding two sets of drinking glasses- wine glasses, along with green wine tumblers gives guests different options for their drinking pleasure. Then adding colored napkins laced with sunflower napkin rings completes this place setting idea.
For the centerpiece I had to play around with this one until I found a good angle.
Entertaining Tip: When it comes to using tall flowers for a dinner party, you want to make sure you put the flowers at an angle where they don’t get in the way of seeing the guests sitting across from you.
I put the harvest flowers into white milk jugs and set them on the edge of the table runner. Using a Fall Centerpiece (I cheated and picked up a premade one at Hobby Lobby for 80% off), I added layered scented candles to each side of of the centerpiece and this completed my Fall Dinner party idea.
Once my guests arrived and we sat down for dinner, I dimmed the lights and lit the candles. This set the mood for an intimate and romantic dinner party!
And viola, done!
