3 Ways to Naturally Soothe Arthritis- Arthritis can affect anyone. Here are 3 arthritis treatments that relieve painful and inflamed joints naturally.

While it is thought to be an issue for the elderly, arthritis comes in several forms and can hit anyone, even kids. Joint pain, stiffness, and loss in rage of motion are the most common effects of arthritis on the body. Arthritis sufferers often turn to large doses of pain medication which they must take to find temporary and often incomplete relief. You can use natural treatments to find relief of arthritis. Here are 3 Ways to Naturally Soothe Arthritis and relieve painful joints without the use of medication.

3 Ways to Naturally Soothe Arthritis

1. Get moving to help arthritic pain. When you are in pain you often do not want to move much. Unfortunately, it is hard to get moving when you are in pain, but working your joints with low impact exercise can help preserve range of motion and lessen this pain. Talk to your doctor about adding low impact exercise such as walking and swimming to your daily regimen.

2. Use Turmeric to reduce pain and swelling. Adding turmeric to your foods gives you the therapeutic properties of this herb. This herb can taste a bit bitter but is easily hidden in nearly everything you eat by mixing it in with your salt and pepper in the shakers. The small doses repeatedly through the day will keep it in your system. Larger doses mixed in with things like scrambled eggs can give you a full dose of this herb while masking the flavor. I have hidden it in other foods like fried chicken and salad dressings as well.

3. Soak in an Essential Oil Detoxifying Bath for arthritis pain. By pulling toxins out of your body you can help reduce swelling and pain in your joints and make other methods of pain reduction more effective again by lowering your tolerance levels.

This detox bath is used daily for 2 full weeks. During this time you should NOT use any other arthritis treatment. This is not for those with sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

  • 30 drops fennel essential oil
  • 16 drops cypress essential oil
  • 10 drops juniper essential oil
  • 1 cups Epsom salts (each bath)
  • 1/2 cup dead sea salt (each bath)

Instructions:

  1. Blend your fennel, cypress, and juniper essential oil into a dark glass bottle. (a great way to reuse an empty essential oil bottle) Shake to blend the oils.
  2. Add the Epsom and dead sea salts to warm bath water. Place 4 drops of detoxifying essential oil blend into the bath. Soak for a minimum of 15 minutes.
  3. Repeat the detoxifying bath daily for two weeks.

The main thing about naturally soothing arthritis is to remember that it may take a few tries to find the method that helps you the most. Natural treatments can take longer to set in, so don’t give up when it takes a few days to feel a difference.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
