Wouldn’t it be nice to have a robot to help you do things? What kid doesn’t dream about having a robot to help them with tasks like making beds and doing chores? Well, this craft won’t give your kids a real robot, but it will give them something that can make their imaginations take off.

This Robot Craft for Kids is great if you are working with younger kids and introducing them to the Letter R. Older kids might like this as well as they create stories about their robots and the adventures they have. So let’s get creative and make some robots!

 Directions:

There are no rules when you are making your robot! Just go to town!

1. We started by adding some eyes and a mustache with some mustache tape we had!

2. We followed up with some pom pom hair and some felt body buttons.

3. To make the arms, we broke a popsicle stick in half and wrapped it in scrap fabric. Using a utility knife, we cut slits into the side of the cup and slide the arms in. We tacked the arms on with a little hot glue.

4. We added some hair spirals using a chenille stick wrapped around a pencil. We affixed it to the robot’s head with hot glue.

This the ultimate “scrap” craft. I really let my daughter take the reigns on this! Anything you have laying around will work beautifully for this robot. The one thing we should have used was tinfoil! But I swear when you’re forced to “find” things around the house, nothing jumps out at you.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
