My Cantaloupe, Apple, and Strawberry Yogurt Cup is another perfect example how good and healthy come together to create something delicious. Lately, I have been on a bit of a healthy eating streak. Now, that doesn’t mean I have forsaken the really good stuff; it just means that for me the best approach is to take a balanced approach to eating. Typically, I prefer to eat healthy meals Monday through Friday. But Saturday and Sunday are my eat whatever I want to eat cheat days. It works for me.

I love yogurt cups because of their versatility. Like most people, I love variety. When it comes to yogurt cups I like to switch it up and add lots of new flavors but still keep things relatively healthy. And I am really enjoying lactose-free yogurt that doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. For this yogurt cup, I added sliced cantaloupe, strawberries, and Gala apples.  I added chopped pistachios, hemp hearts, and the drizzle of dark chocolate syrup. If variety is the spice of life then eating healthy too has got to be one of the keys to a healthy and happy lifestyle. Check out the recipe down below.

I have never heard of hemp hearts. I need to look for them. Berries are my favorite fruit and since its the middle of winter I am craving them. This looks like a delicious lunch for one. That way I can have a little bit more.

Thank you for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty. I very much enjoyed your post. Leanna

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
