Chocolate-Dipped Clementines Recipe
Ingredients:
- 5 clementines, peeled with large pieces of pith removed and divided into slices
- 1 cup milk chocolate morsels
- Decorative sprinkling sugar
Instructions:
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave stirring well every 30 seconds giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the chocolate is overheated, it will be too thick or seize. You can add 2 teaspoons of vegetable shortening to help thin the chocolate but do not add any other type of liquid as the chocolate will seize and harden.
- Make sure clementine slices are dry as the liquid will make the chocolate seize and harden. Dip clementine slices one at a time about halfway into the chocolate. Allow excess to drip off and place dipped clementine on waxed paper.
- Immediately sprinkle the chocolate with decorative sprinkles.
- Allow chocolate to set completely before packaging or serving.
