You will want to stock your freezer with this easy homemade blueberry popsicles recipe!
My 10-year-old really enjoys popsicles and frozen treats in the summer. I feel better about letting him eat sweets when I know they are made with real fruit! When I am short on time, I just pour pure fruit juice in popsicle molds. My kids actually enjoy my fruit juice popsicles quite a bit. However, when I have a little extra time, I like to puree fresh fruit and honey (or sugar) and make homemade popsicles.
Easy Homemade Blueberry Popsicles
To make blueberry popsicles, you start by pureeing the blueberries in a food processor or blender with sugar and water. If your kids are sensitive to certain textures, you can strain the pureed blueberries to create blueberry popsicles with a smoother texture.
If you can’t find fresh blueberries, you can use frozen berries. Wild Maine Blueberries are my favorite. They are smaller than the blueberries that you usually find at the stores, but they are sweeter.
In addition to blueberries, sugar, and water, you will need a set of 4 – 6 count Popsicle molds and popsicle sticks. You can find a set of popsicle molds at Dollar Tree for a dollar. I splurged on popsicle molds and usually make my popsicles in either stainless steel popsicle molds or silicone popsicle molds.
If you prefer using wooden popsicle sticks instead of the plastic sticks that come with the popsicle molds, cover your popsicle mold with plastic wrap and make a small slit directly in the center of each popsicle mold with a knife, and put a wooden popsicle stick into each mold and freeze.

I will try and substitute a banana for the sugar and add honey. Could I add coconut milk instead of water?

These popsicles look so refreshing! I like for my son to have fresh fruits but he prefers them either in ice cream or as baked desserts. Summer is the time when I can load him with fruits using sorbet and popsicles made of fresh fruits. I have some frozen blueberries and will try out your recipe 🙂
