Store-bought pizza is convenient…just don’t look at the ingredient list!  If you want to maximize the flavor and keep the contents simple, homemade pizza dough is the way to go!  You don’t have to spin it in the air at all.

Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe with Toppings

Nothing beats the smell of fresh pizza baking in the oven, especially when the crust is made from scratch. This homemade pizza dough recipe is simple, reliable, and delivers the perfect balance of chewy center and crisp edges every time. Whether you’re making a classic pepperoni, loading up on toppings for a family night, or experimenting with your own creations, this dough comes together with just a few pantry staples and a little patience. Once you try it, you’ll never go back to store-bought again!

Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

Use this recipe to learn how to make a pizza with homemade pizza dough. This pizza dough recipe makes one 10-12 inch pizza crust.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 packet, 0.25 ounce, fast-rising instant yeast (or 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup warm water (105-110 degrees F)

Directions:

1. In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup or flour (reserving the rest for step 3), sugar, salt and yeast.

2. Mix well.

3. Add the water and mix until the dough is sticky.

4. Add remaining reserved flour and toss to coat.

5. Knead dough about 15-20 times or until you have a ball formed.

6. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 15 minutes.

7. Remove from bowl and spread onto a lightly greased pizza stone or pan creating a 10-12 inch pizza.

9. Bake at 450 degrees F for 8-12 minutes or until cheese is melted and begins to brown.
