Chicken Alfredo Pizza Recipe with Broccoli - This homemade chicken Alfredo pizza recipe is a family favorite & a great way to get kids to eat their veggies!
This Chicken Alfredo Pizza recipe is my favorite way to use up leftover Alfredo Sauce, but I have no problem whipping up a batch of Alfredo sauce just to make this pizza.

I used my Slightly Healthier Gluten Free Garlic and Herb Pizza Dough recipe to make the crust for this pizza. Use your favorite pizza dough recipe, but add 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon rosemary, and 1 teaspoon basil when mixing the dry ingredients to create an especially flavorful pizza.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza Recipe with Broccoli

Ingredients:

enough pizza dough for 1 large pizza
Alfredo Sauce (recipe below)
1/2 cup cooked chicken, diced
1 cup broccoli, finely chopped (asparagus would also be good)
3 green onions, thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Prepare pizza dough according to the recipe directions, but don’t forget to add garlic powder, rosemary, and basil when mixing the dough.

While the pizza crust is baking, I make the Alfredo sauce and prepare the other ingredients.

After removing pizza crust from oven top with Alfredo sauce and chicken:

Place broccoli and onions over chicken:

Top with cheese:

Place pizza back in the oven on a middle rack. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 –10 minutes or until cheese is melted and just begins to turn brown.

Alfredo Sauce Recipe

This is the same Alfredo Sauce Recipe that I used in Pasta Alfredo with Asparagus, but I included it here to make it more convenient should you choose to try this recipe.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon cornstarch (or 2 T. flour)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1 cup Mozzarella cheese (or 3/4 cups mozzarella and 1/4 cup parmesan)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon fresh parsley (or 2 teaspoons dried)
dash of pepper

Directions:

Melt butter in a medium sauce pot. Once the butter is melted add cornstarch. Stir until smooth. Cook over a medium-high flame until the mixture is smooth and bubbly, stirring constantly.

Add milk slowly, stirring until well blended. Add broth, cheese, garlic powder, parsley and pepper. Stir over a medium flame, until cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Thoughts on Making Pizza

For a long time, I was afraid of making my own pizza dough. I didn’t think I could make it look pretty – and I can’t. I have still never made a perfectly round pizza, the closest I have come is a fat oval (my daughter said it would be more politically correct to say a wide oval). But you know what? Ugly homemade pizza tastes way better than a perfectly formed packaged or delivery pizza. It is also healthier and a lot less expensive. As with most homemade food, you get twice the flavor, for half the price.

    Shana,

Elsa at Elsa's cookind Diary has an Alfredo Pizza that included spinach: http://elsascookingdiary.blogspot.com/2011/01/alfredo-asparagus-and-spinach-pizza.html

How funny. I was just telling Chris last night I wanted to find a chicken alfredo pizza recipe. Except I want to use spinach in it. Thanks a bunch. Now I am off to print it and go grocery shopping.

Yeah, round pizza is so over rated! I get close, but then we eat an odd shaped pizza-pie and it tastes just fine! I will have to try your alfredo pizza, it sounds delicious!

I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget.
