7 Essential Oils to Take When You Travel - These essential oils are easy to travel with and can help with jet lag, immunity, stomach aches, and more.

Do you travel often for business or pleasure? Regardless of your reason for travel, you will find that essential oils can make the journey a little easier. Essential oils are small and compact, making them easy to travel with and just a few bottles can help with a host of issues. If you want to know more about how essential oils can help you when you are on the move, take a look at these 7 essential oils to take when you travel. You will find that they are one travel necessity you won’t want to leave home without!

7 Essential Oils to Take When You Travel

1. Lemon oil.

Lemon oil is fantastic when traveling since you encounter a great deal of germs. It can help keep your immunity up when inhaled or diffused, keeping you healthy as you see the sights! You can also use it as a cleaning agent when you encounter less than clean hotel rooms. Add it to your water for a quick pick me up, or even inhale it to help combat germs on a crowded plane.

2. Orange oil.

Feeling a bit jet lagged? No worries. Inhale some orange oil or diffuse it into your space. You will feel more alert, awake, and refreshed. Just the scent alone can work wonders on your mood after a long day of travel.

3. Lavender oil.

Do you have a hard time falling asleep when you travel? Many people do. Try massaging a little lavender oil onto your temples so you can drift off peacefully. You can even try diffusing some lavender oil into your space so you can feel more comfortable and at ease, no matter where you are resting your head.

4. Peppermint oil.

Do you tend to overindulge when you travel? Many people do. Peppermint oil can help soothe a sore stomach as well as help with headaches and basic aches and pains. Massage it onto areas of concern as well as temples to soothe these issues.

5. Lime oil.

Lime oil can be added to your water to help you feel more refreshed and boost your immune system. It can be inhaled to help you feel more alert, and can be used to clean your travel space as well. The scent is quite refreshing, and it compliments your other citrus oils well.

6. Grapefruit oil.

Grapefruit oil is another citrus oil perfect for traveling with. It can help with jet lag and can help you feel more refreshed and alert. It is ideal for cleansing your spaces, and can be inhaled whenever germs are an issue. Like lime oil, it pairs nicely with other citrus oils as well.

7. Rosemary oil.

Rosemary oil is wonderful for inhaling when you need to feel relaxed and at ease. It can help soothe a sore head, and can even be used to soothe sore muscles. Rosemary oil has a natural and woodsy scent that some people even like using in place of colognes or perfumes, so it is great for that use as well.

When traveling with your oils, just store them in a zip-close, clear plastic bag. This is typically enough to keep them safe and prevent any spillage. This also makes it easier when going through any sort of airport security where your liquids will need to be checked. Essential oil bottles are typically small and get through airport security just fine, but always check the most recent guidelines prior to flying.

As you can see, essential oils can make your travel a more comfortable experience for you. Give these 7 essential oils for travel a try and see what a difference they can make! Chances are you will never want to leave home without them again.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
