Homemade Rosemary and Lavender Mini Hand Soaps- These little soaps moisturize and cleanse using natural ingredients. They're also a wonderful handmade gift!

These sweet Homemade Rosemary and Lavender Mini Hand Soaps are a great addition to any guest bathroom or use them to fill up a pretty mason jar and bring them as a hostess gift. Teachers, neighbors, friends, and everyone else will love this thoughtful handmade gift. Simple natural ingredients create a moisturizing and cleansing hand soap that smells terrific and you can feel safe using, even on the littlest hands in your home.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with your favorite essential oils in place of the Rosemary and Lavender. You can also use whatever soap base you like- glycerin, shea, or other melt and pour bases will all work with this basic recipe. My kids love helping with the not cooking part of these and beg to make them often, I am sure your kids will too!

Homemade Rosemary and Lavender Mini Hand Soaps

Materials:

  • 1/2 lb. Goats Milk Soap Base
  • 2 T. coconut oil
  • soap colorant or hibiscus powder
  • 5-7 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5-7 drops rosemary essential oil
  • small pan
  • wooden spoon
  • silicone mold

Directions:

1. Place soap base and coconut oil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stir frequently until completely melted.Homemade Rosemary and Lavender Mini Hand Soaps melting

2. Remove from heat and stir in essential oils and colorant if desired until completely mixed.  I used a tsp and a half of beet root powder because it was what I had on hand and is a good natural colorant but you can also purchase special soap color. I have included a link to both in the list of ingredients above.

3. Pour your soap mixture quickly into the mold and allow to harden. Leave it to cool and set at least 1 hour then carefully remove from mold. You can hasten hardening by placing your mold in the refrigerator.

4. Store in a cool dry place in an airtight container.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
