These Turkey Rice Krispie Treats are easy to put together and turn out so cute that they will be a hit this Thanksgiving with kids and grownups alike (no reason the kids should get all the fun).

These adorable Turkey Rice Krispie Treats are a fun dessert to make with the kids and would add some sweet whimsy to your Thanksgiving table!

Make theses turkey rice krispie treats ahead of timeor let the children make their own on Thanksgiving while you finish up preparations, they can set while you eat and be ready to “gobble gobble ” up when you are done with dinner.

Turkey Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

  • 8 count package of Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Treats
  • 10 ounce package of Wilton chocolate candy melts
  • 8 large candy eyes
  • 8 small candy eyes
  • 11 oz package of Brach’s Autumn Mix OR candy corn
  • 8 popsicle sticks

Directions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the 8 Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Treats and discard the wrappers.
  3. Insert a popsicle stick into the base of each Rice Krispie Treat, be sure you get it in center and push straight in so it doesn’t pop out one side or the other.
  4. Place the treats on the plate and set in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  5. Pour the Wilton chocolate candy melts into a microwave-safe dish. Heat in the microwave in 30 second increments stirring occasionally until melted.
  6. Remove the melted chocolate from the microwave and dip each Rice Krispie treat. Use a spoon to carefully coat each treat and allow the excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  7. Place the chocolate covered treat on the lined baking sheet and give the turkey 1 large candy eye and 1 small candy eye to add some whimsy, then a candy corn nose and 6 candy corn feathers.
  8. Repeat with each of the 8 Rice Krispie Treats.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
