Five Halloween Looks Using Natural Makeup
“Pretty” Scary Vampire: Using your foundation brush, create a deathly pale, monochromatic skin tone by heavily applying a light powder foundation all over the face. Create dramatic cheek bones by applying deep brown bronzer or grey shadow with a contour brush on a diagonal starting from your ears along the underside of your cheekbones almost to the corners of your mouth. For the perfect cryptic-looking lip, apply a deep purple lip tint and use a dark purple or black eyeshadow at the corners of the mouth to create an ombre effect. Vamp up your brows by accentuating the highest point of your arch with a dark brown eyeliner pencil and fill in with dark brown shadow using an angled brush.
Simple Pin-Up Makeup: Curl your lashes, then use black gel eyeliner along your upper lashes. To create a cat eye, close your eye and trace a finger along your upper lid’s crease. When you feel the bone of your socket, mark that spot with a dot of liner. Placing the tip of the pencil on the dot, draw a line to the outer corner of your eye, thickening as you go. A coat of black mascara, pink cheeks and red lips complete the look.
Vegan Zombies Eat Graaaaaiins: Use a kabuki brush to apply a matte brown beige eye shadow all over the face and neck to give the skin a sallow look. Brush a matte green shadow onto the highest points of the face – brow bones, cheekbones and chin, and use matte black shadow in the hollows of the cheeks. Blend matte black and eggplant eye shadow around the eyes for a haunted, undead look!
Hipster Kitty Makeup: Just a dab of pink lip gloss on the nose, black whiskers drawn with black waterproof eye pencil, your favorite lipstick, a pair of cat-eye glasses and some pointy ears and you’ve got yourself a cute kitty look that won’t scare your skin!
Easy Day of the Dead Makeup: Using a foundation brush, apply a very light shade of foundation to the whole face and neck. Use a longwear black eyeliner to draw symmetrical patterns on the forehead, cheeks and chin, and to create a skeletal grin across the mouth. Use that same black eye liner to black out the nose, and to draw ornate circles around the eyes. Use black creme eye shadow to fill in the circles, creating the look of empty sockets. Use a waterproof gel lip liner in a bright shade such as red or purple to accent the black patterns.
