These helpful tips will help you achieve your weight loss goals this summer!

Tips for Losing Weight During Summer- It's hard to lose weight during the summer. Following these tips will make it easier to achieve your fitness goals.

Losing weight during summer is one of the hardest things to do! It’s hot out, everyone is vacationing, and it’s generally just a lazier, slower time of year. Don’t be discouraged, though! This article includes helpful Tips for Losing Weight During the Summer. By following them you will be much more successful with your weight loss goals.

Tips for Losing Weight During Summer

Do indoor workouts. If you live in a hot climate, working out outdoors isn’t always an option. If a night run doesn’t align with your schedule, consider some indoor workout options! There are tons of YouTube vidoes online that offer various workouts, as well as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video! If all else fails, just do some normal bodyweight exercises like lunges, burpees, pushups, jumping jacks, or crunches! Check out these cardio body weight exercises to get your heart rate up!

Drink more water! It’s no secret that in order to lose weight, you need to drink water. During the summer, you’ll need to drink even more than normal! Pay attention to your water intake and make adjustments as needed. You should be drinking half your body weight in ounces daily as a minimum. If you need to, carry a portable water bottle or a gallon of water around all day to keep yourself on track.

You can use fresh summer produce to make your water more flavorful! Here are some recipes and tips to flavor your water:

Get your sweat on! Don’t be afraid to sweat! Losing weight is all about being healthy and exercise is a great way to improve your health. If the only possible way you have to work out is outdoors, then get to it! Go in the early morning or evening hours to avoid the heat as best you can and get a simple workout in. There is always a way!

Take your own food to barbecues. Instead of relying on unhealthy snacks that could potentially be provided to you, take your own! Bring a veggie tray with a healthy side dish. Not only will it be much appreciated by the host and other guests, it allows you to stay healthy and continue losing weight throughout the summer!

Find an accountability group. Accountability groups are plentiful on Facebook. If you can’t find one that interests you or that you like, make your own! You can keep it small or open it up to the public, but keep in mind that being admin of a Facebook group is a lot of work, especially in accountability groups where you want people to be motivated every single day. Consider finding one that is already made then join and participate! Participation is key here!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
