Patriotic 4th of July Desserts featuring an assortment of red, white, and blue desserts as well as flag dessert recipes, and eagle cupcakes.

Independence Day has always been one of my favorite holidays both as a kid and an adult. There’s something so amazing about it and I love coming together as a country, despite our differences to celebrate. I remember always having a picnic or a camping get-together when I was young and something that was always a part of the food spread was some delicious red, white and blue desserts. I looked forward to those almost as much as the fireworks later in the evening.

Every year, my mom and my other family members would try to come up with something different. If you want to impress your family and friends this year, check out this spectacular list of amazing 4th of July desserts.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
