Valentine’s Day Party Idea for Kids

It’s hard to believe we are getting close to February 14th. It feels like I was just talking about ways to create a frugal Valentine’s Party idea for Two.

And now, I am going to share with you on how to create an easy and budget-friendly Valentine’s Party for kids. My boys are older, so we are finally out of the staying-up-late-to-make-valentine’s-card stage, WHEW. However, we still love to have fun and celebrate Valentine’s Day as a family. On a recent trip to Target, I shopped from their Dollar Spot to find tons of goodies to create this Valentine’s Table Decor idea.

Supplies for Valentine’s Party idea:

  • Valentine’s Day related paper plates
  • Four Red Heart Plates
  • Four Purple, Pink, Blue & Green Heart Plates
  • Pink  Pom PomTissue Garland
  • Large Felt Valentine’s Day Envelopes
  • Felt Grey Mailbox
  • Pink & White Paper Straws
  • Large Red Arrows
  • Small Red Tray
  • Candy Jars with Heart Shaped Lids
  • Sweethearts
  • Shimmery/Sheer Pink Table runner

Once you have all your supplies, you can put together this all together in under 15 minutes!

I placed the felt envelopes on the table first. The envelopes can serve two purposes. One, as a charger and then a party favor. The kids can place all of their goodies and cards inside their bags.

Then place the heart shaped plates on top, then the paper plates.

For the center of the table, I just cut a piece of the sheer pink fabric to size and laid it on the table. I placed the red arrows and pink pom poms on top of the pink table runner.

I added candied rim with sprinkles on the glasses with milk for an extra FUN treat! Here’s how to make a candied rim glass.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
