Welcome to another week of fun activities, crafts, recipes, books and printables for teaching the alphabet. Let’s get started on these fun ways to introduce the letter W!

10+ Ways to Introduce the Letter W

Crafts:

This Watermelon Paper Plate Craft from Lil Miss Smarty Pants looks pretty fun.

Here’s an Easy Arctic Walrus Craft from Preschool Crafts for Kids.

Printables:

This Letter W Tracing Sheet from The Singing Walrus is great to use for practicing writing the letter W.

Education.com has a whole page of Letter W Printables from coloring sheets to writing sheets.

Activities:

I love this Wind Dance that Back in the Hills did with her kids. She did it outside during the winter so it was a great way to get them out of the house even when the weather was cold.

Angel Navy Wife did some fun water activities with her kids. One was this Water Painting one that is not messy and perfect for a sunny day.

Books:

Watermelon Wishes by Lisa Moser

Where’s Walrus? by Steven Savage

In Arctic Waters by Laura Crawford

What’s the Weather? by Schoolastic Inc.

Recipes:

I love these “Watermelon” Waffles from Simply Sprout. What a great way to use two W words to create one fun recipe!

Make these Watermelon Limeade Popcicles from Our Thrifty Ideas for something fun and refreshing to eat during your lesson.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
